USA:n perustuslaissa on ainakin yksi pykälä, joka antaa rutkasti aihetta kummastukseen. Toinen lisäys kuuluu: "The right to keep and bear arms". En tykkää linnojen piirtelystä, joten keskityn kakkososaan. Mikä ihmeen fiksaatio amerikkalaisilla on karhujen käpäliin? Kaikkihan tietävät, että se johtaa väistämättä... (jatkuu osassa 2)

There is at least one amendment in the US constitution that keeps puzzling me. The 2nd amendment: "The right to keep and bear arms". I don't like drawing castles so I'll focus on the latter part. So, what's with this fixation on bear arms? Everyone knows that it will inevitably lead to... (continued in part 2)

Mad Man

Koska en ehtinyt croquisiin tälläkään viikolla, luonnostelin televisiosta. Etsin samalla referenssejä ed. postissa mainittua verkkosarjista varten, joten 50-luku jyrää.

Because I didn't make it to life drawing this week, I did sketches from the tv. At the same time I was looking for reference pictures for the webcomic I mentioned in the last post, so the 50's rock.

Morgan & Dante as a free webcomic

Aloin juuri julkaista Morgan & Dantea nettisarjiksena. Olen tehnyt sarjaa lähes 10 vuotta ja oppinut sen avulla piirtämään kunnolla (tosin kaikki vanhimmat stripit on piirretty uudelleen). Tarina on kevyt seikkailukertomus avaruuden viidakoista. Mainos kertoo aika paljon - luvassa on vauhtia ja huumoria, eikä kovin paljon eettistä pohdintaa.

I just started publishing Morgan & Dante as a webcomic. I've been making this series for nearly 10 years and it has taught me to draw properly (although all the earliest strips have been redrawn). The story is a light adventure in the jungles of outer space. Like the ad suggests - there is going to be a lot of thrills and humour.

Tein tämän synttärikortiksi frendille. Koko oli rajoite kuten yleensä, mutta päästelin kerrankin vähän railakkaammin ja hauskaa oli.

I did this as a birthday card for a friend. The size was a limitation as always but for once I let go with the brush and had a lot of fun.

IF: Breezy

Tämä ilmestyi Helsingin vihreiden eduskuntavaalilehdessä vuonna 2007. Helsinki jää veden alle ja niin edespäin. Tein tämän mahdollisimman vaikeasti. Melkein jokainen väri on erillinen piirros - skannattu ja kompattu indesignissa.

This was published in the Helsinki green party magazine for the 2007 parliamental election. Helsinki getting tsunami-treatment and so forth. I did this the absolute hardest way. Nearly every colour is its own drawing - scanned and comped in indesign.

Pohjoismaiden Doping-mestaruus, IF: Celebrate

Tämä julkaistiin Seurassa viime kesänä. Juttu kertoi siitä, kuinka Ruotsi on Pohjoismaiden doping-kuningas ja Suomi hyvä kakkonen.

This was published in Seura-magazine last summer. The article was about how Sweden leads the nordic countries in doping use and Finland comes in a close second. I guess that's something to celebrate...
