Conan ja Superbowl

Eilen kävi outo juttu, ensimmäisen kerran kuvitus meni niin pieleen, että se piti viiden tunnin puurtamisen jälkeen alkaa alusta. Se johti siihen, että väkersin kuvaa myöhään yöhön seuranani kaikista maailman ohjelmista - suora lähetys Superbowlista! Vaihtoehtona oli siis ostoskanava. Täytyy sanoa, että siinä jos missä tuli aikamoinen eksoottisuuspläjäys. En ymmärrä pelistä sen enempää kuin ala-asteen välitunnillakaan (pallo pitää saada toiseen päähän kenttää runnoen vastaantulijoita), mutta luulisin, että tässä oli paljon välittömämpi näkymä amerikkalaiseen kulttuuriin kuin yhdessäkään dr Philissä tai tositv:ssä, joita on tungokseksi asti Suomen televisiossa.

Ihan sivuhuomautuksena - Prince vetää Foo Fightersia aika paljon paremmin kuin ne itse :)

A funny thing happened to me yesterday. For the first time an illustration went so horribly wrong I had to start completely over after five hours of toiling. So, I had to hack away at it til morning having only the live tv-broadcast of the Superbowl as company! The alternative was the TV-shop... I have to say it was quite an exotic experience. I understand nothing of the game I didn't learn on grammar school recesses (get the ball to the other end of the field and try to stomp on others doing it) but I think it presented a much more immediate and truthful view into american culture than any of the reality shows or dr Phils we get too much of here.

And by the way - Prince does Foo Fighters a LOT better than the Foo Fighters.
